Once you have logged in to cPanel, click on "Backups" in the "Files" section.
The Backups feature allows a user to backup or restore all or part of their account (i.e. website, databases, forwarders and filters).
Full Backup
A Full Backup will allow you to create an archive of all the files and configurations on your website. You can only use this to move your account to another server, or to keep a local copy of your files. You cannot restore Full Backups through your cPanel interface.
Partial Backup
Download a Home Directory Backup:
This function will allow you to download all of the files in your home directory. This can be useful to backup the html side of your site.
To download, just click "Download" and save the file to your computer.
Download a MySQL Database Backup:
This function will allow you to download all MySQL databases that are a part of your account. As these databases change frequently, you may require to download them more often than the files in your /home directory.
To download, just click on the name of the database you wish to download and save the file to your computer.
Download an Email Forwarder Backup:
You can use this function to download your email forwarders. To download, just click on the domain of the email forwarders that you wish to download and save the file to your computer.
Download a Spam Filter Backup:
You can use this function to download your spam filters. To download, just click on the domain of the spam filters you wish to download and save the file to your computer.
Restore Backups
You can restore a home, database, forwarder or filter backup file that you have downloaded earlier.
To restore, select the appropriate backup file accordingly and click "Upload".
